One year from now, on 9 Feb 2018, the 2018 Winter Olympics will open their doors in PyeongChang, South Korea. Omega will be the official timekeeper of the Olympics again for Omega PyeongChang 2018. To celebrate the countdown, Omega has released a special commemorative watch, the Seamaster Planet Ocean “PyeongChang 2018”. This is another addition to their Olympic Games collection – The Seamaster Aqua Terra “PyeongChang 2018”. Both PyeongChang watches are limited to 2,018 pieces.
The Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m Omega PyeongChang 2018 Limited Edition
This limited edition 43.5mm Omega Planet Ocean 600m captures the color scheme of the South Korean flag. The blue polished ceramic dial and the unidirectional bezel, blends in with the red rubber for the first 15 mins. The entire rubber strap comes in matching theme as well. Although, this touch is not something new, and is similar to regular Planet Ocean Deep Black Series in 2016.
The Omega PyeongChang 2018 Planet Ocean comes in a presentation box with an extra stainless steel bracelet. The case-back attracted us more with the fancy touch and the colours of the Olympic logo. The sapphire crystal caseback is marked with the words “Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018”. Similarly, the words Planet Ocean, Limited Edition, and Serial numbers are engraved on the steel back in blue.
The price for this Planet Ocean 600m PyeongChang 2018 is not fixed yet but is expected to be about $6,900 to $7,500.
The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Olympic PyeongChang 2018 Limited Edition
This PyeongChang 2018 Aqua Terra is using five colors of the Olympic Rings, the the words “PyeongChang 2018” on the minute track. One thing worth noting is that the number 18 aligns perfectly with the 20 minute index. But basically this watch is a redecorated Aqua Terra 150M. The 41.5mm stainless steel case looks classic and is still visible in the teak dial and sleek design.
Overall, you can admire the Master Co-Axial 8500 movement through the sapphire crystal; on it, is decorated with the official “Olympic Games PyeongChang 2018” Logo as well. You can read up more on the Omega Aqua Terra movement and anti-magnetic function in a previous article we have written.
The price of Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Pyeongchang 2018 is about $5,650.
