Earlier this year at SIHH 2016, Officine Panerai unveils 12 new watches; which includes a new Luminor Due Case, New Luminor Marina Collection, and a Raidomir with a fully engraved case. This exhibition opens dive into time, to discover the past, the present, and the future of Officine Panerai. The engraved Radiomir released this year is Radiomir Firenze 3 Days Acciaio (PAM672) – The successor of Last years’ Panerai Firenze PAM604.
Panerai Radiomir Firenze 3 Days Acciaio (PAM672)
Panerai Firenze PAM672 is a new special edition of just 99 pieces. Additionally, the new Firenze is sold exclusively in the historic Panerai boutique in the Piazza San Giovanni as well. The main difference from the Radiomir PAM604 is that PAM672 is both a hand-engraved stainless steel case as well as a laser-engraved in-house movement.
An ancient technique of engraving with a “Sparsello” engraving tool is done on the front flanks of the 47mm steel case. Almost every detail on the Radiomir Firenze are dedicated to Florence: the case profile, the dial, the largest movement plate, and even the straps showcases the Florentine Lily. In fact, the patterns on the case seem similar to PAM604.
The movement on Panerai Firenze PAM672
The decorated Panerai P.3000 caliber is the center of the timepiece. We must admit it looks really amazing, and it gives the entire watch a ‘completed’ aesthetic feel. From the outer ring edges together with the bridges and cocks features a fully decorated movement. On the whole, amazing contrast between the visual effects is obvious by hand and by modern technology.
All in all, the Radiomir Firenze PAM672 seems like a more completed PAM604. The engraved movement looked wonderful on the case and the decorated movement still work beautifully. The price for the Panerai Radiomir Firenze 3 Days PAM672 is €25,000.
