Rolex Submariner 116610 Watch Review on – The Design
The Rolex Submariner 116610 watch design is one that mixes professional and sports looks, is one of the main attraction to the well loved design. It not only has the looks but its’ design includes the water-tight watch case which was first commercially launched water resistant watch known as the Oyster. The black and white design of the dial is meant for high contrast in time reading and yet easy on the eyes. The different design of the illumed indicators and hour and minute hand are meant for legibility, event in the dark. Apart from using 18k white gold for the hands and hour indicators, Rolex also made the lume glow blue. This also allows the lume glow part to look more white during the day. Rolex Submariner also has a very iconic triangular 12 o’clock mark that is meant for easy mental orientation. In short, the design of The Submariner is a tool watch with a sharp design that will never be out of fashion.
Rolex Submariner Date Review on – The Case
Despite the initial intention for Rolex Submariner watch to be a tool at start, today, Rolex is known as a luxury watch. Some examples are: a layer of AR coat is applied to the bottom of the sapphire crystal (but not on the top), to allow easy reading from here but still looks shiny to onlookers. The Rolex Submariner measures 40mm wide, but it wears larger and looks more like a 42mm wide watch. This could be due to the lug structure of the watch.

Rolex Submariner Date Watch Review on – The Bracelet
This new generation Rolex Submariner Watch gives a ‘Glidelock’ System that gives the watch the ability to micro-adjust the bracelet. It can now be easily worn over a jacket or dive suit; as it allows you to re-size the bracelet with ease on the fly. This is a major improvement from it’s three-link tapering steel bracelet. Tapering helps the bracelet to be more pleasant to wear by having the lugs narrower closer to the clasp.
Too bad Rolex does not offer this ‘Glidelock’ system with comparable watches such as the Rolex Explorer 2. Lucky, you can find it in the more weighty Deepsea models.
